29 Accommodation Interior Items Renewed & Repaired on Vessel B Himalaya at PaxOcean Batam
From condition survey to handover, PT NIA handled 29 repair items across cabins, hospital, pantry, laundry, control room and bridge.

Batam — Between June and July 2026, PT Nusantara Indah Abadi completed ship interior repair works on the accommodation of vessel B Himalaya while she was docked at PaxOcean shipyard, Batam.
Starting with an accommodation condition survey
Work began with a survey on 30 June 2026. PT NIA surveyors inspected every room and documented the damage: wooden furniture, drawers and locks, toilet and shower fittings, doors and railings. The findings were compiled into an item list categorised as renew (replace) or repair.
29 renew & repair items
The scope covered the captain's room, engineer and officer cabins, two-man and four-man rooms, hospital, laundry, pantry, control room, declaration room and bridge. Key items included:
- Replacing thermostatic shower faucets, shower heads, sink faucets and bidet showers.
- Repairing sink drainage pipes and the laundry exhaust fan.
- Replacing drawer locks, drawer knobs, dead locks and toilet door closers.
- Re-upholstering damaged chairs and sofas, plus window, shower and sleeping curtains.
- Repairing wooden furniture: tables, bunk drawers, plywood, cabinet shelves and wardrobes.
- Porthole sealing, bulkhead lamps, store and outside doors, and level-2 railings.
Documented from start to finish
Each item was recorded in a work summary with description, renew/repair category, quantity and room location. Before–after documentation and work reports formed the basis for handover.
One contractor for cleaning and repairs
The project shows the advantage of a single partner for cleaning, carpentry and accommodation plumbing: simpler coordination and a more controlled docking schedule.
